Hello Everyone! I'm going to do a step by step thread for those a little confused about how a Forum based Online Conference Works.
The Workshop Host is a registered participant of the forum, just like those merely attending. You have all signed up or Free and are sitting at your computers in your pajamas. Isn't that nice?
The Workshop Host will Create a Thread like this one and use this first post to introduce their workshop.
A Workshop can be as simple as a How to Writing Article, or a prompt with photographs and media, or more involved with document attachments and worksheet exercises for a participant to download.

The Workshop Host can take as many posts as they need to for their workshop space. Multiple steps, media, or exercises.
Some of the workshops will be stagnant with nothing more for the participant to do other than read what the Host has posted.
However The workshops may also be interactive, with the host calling for comments and responses. Or, if you've read a great article and would still just like to comment and begin a dialogue with fellow participants, you can do that, too.
The Workshop Host may respond to comments and facilitate an interactive time, or not. That's okay, too. But you all will be here to browse and enjoy all the workshops, presented, too.

Why is HOW Forum based? Because we want the workshops to be seen and be available to anyone, anytime, anywhere.
This is how we communicated on the internet before the instant access of social media. Remember when you had to leave a message on someone's answering machine for them to get back to you? Remember when you had to wait by the phone for someone to call?
I know, I know!
We've done live HorrorAddicts.net Book Launches on Facebook, and you might have participated in a Twitter blast like Pit Mad.
Those type of things however, are on one day, at one time. If that's a bad day for you or the wrong time of day, well, that's just how the cookie crumbles and good luck trying to scroll through all the social media mayhem to find what you missed!

Fortunately!
Thanks not how things work at HOW!
The Conference Boards will unlocked on Saturday February 23. Workshop Hosts can post early or create their Workshop threads as early during the Conference Week as possible, Sunday February 24 or Monday February 25.
The idea is that both Workshop Presenters and Lurking Participants can come back to HOW in whatever time is convenient for YOU!
Mondays are no good for you? No big, you have all week to catch up on any of the workshops that interest you.
They aren't going to go away and you aren't going to be too late no matter what day is your writing day, what time of day you do writing business, or heck, on what part of the planet you live!

All you have to do is bookmark HOW and come back to 'check your messages' and read what workshops inspire you.
There will be live events planned on the front page of the Forum in our Shout Box section. That's like an old fashioned chat room of yore.
Those have a set day and time that we hope people will be able to tune in to in real time, but it is okay if can't make all of them. We just want the opportunity to answer your writing questions directly!
Right Now our tentative chat schedule includes:
A Sunday Night Opening Chat
Chat with Emerian Rich, HorrorAddicts.net Publisher
Chat with Naching Kassa, Dark Divinations Anthology Editor
Thursday Morning Google Hangout with the Wicked Women Writers Groups
A Thursday Night Goodbye Party
Whew!
